Chemical Peel Aftercare

It is important you don’t generate any additional heat during the first 48hrs as the layers of your skin have just been exfoliated. Exposing a fresh new layer of your skin will be more susceptible to burning.

• Avoid exercise and hot baths
• Sunscreen is a must whenever you leave the house, even if you’re only getting in and out of the car.
• Avoid the use of harsh exfoliants or active cleansers for 2 weeks after your treatment.
• Avoid topical medications such as Ziana, Atralin and Differin for 10 days following your treatment
• As skin begins to flake and peel, do not pull, scrub or pick at skin. There are do-it yourself chemical peels on the market, but it is always a good idea to see a trained professional.

Do’s and Don’ts
Do treat your skin gently
Do be extra careful when the skin is wet
Do wear sunscreen after a chemical peel
Do limit your time outdoors
Don’t pick or pull at the flakey skin
Don’t use a washcloth, facial scrub or sonic cleaning brush
Don’t over moisturise after a chemical peel
Don’t exfoliate with acids or enzymes
